One of the most “folk art” themed designs I’ve ever done, this primitively-colored 21 1/2″ square table rug is highlighted with a hint of sophistication as well, what with the embellishment of simple embroidery throughout the design. If, in addition to the basic blanket stitch (for the applique), you have a working knowledge of chain stitching, french knots, lazy daisy stitches, and the wheel stitch (which is nothing more than blanket stitching done in a full or partial circle), you are set to enjoy many lovely hours of stitching.
Available as a pattern or pattern/kit combination, your order is, as always, shipped FREE.
If you need this pattern in the next few minutes, simply select the “Downloadable PDF” version of the pattern when you make your purchase.
Your pattern is packed into a clear 9″ x 12″ zip lock bag. Its contents include a cover page with full-color photographs of the completed project, a page of detailed written instructions, six pages of line drawings showing the full-sized layout of the entire runner/rug (one of which includes full-size drawings of the embroidery embellishment stitching details), a page with full-size drawings of all the design elements, and a page listing the fabric requirements and the DMC size 8 threads/colors used in this project.
If you order the pattern/kit combination, you will also receive the deep olive green wool fabric for the “underside” background, the medium brown plaid fabric for the “topside” background, and all the wool fabric for the primitive flowers, leaves, and vines that make this rug/runner what it is. In addition, all the strips/vines are cut for you. Floss and backing fabric are not included, as these are usually very much by preference of the stitcher.
